Tree of knowledge = the mind's choice to eat of the outer, dual world of good and evil — the thinking that falls from oneness into judgment and its turmoil. It is not a literal tree. Eating of it is taking on the divided, fear-based mind; the garden is lost until the mind returns to the single, true seeing.
