Faith in the Bible — Hidden Meaning & Symbolism

Faith = the power of your own mind that holds an invisible truth as real until it becomes visible. It is the belief that makes things come to pass — 'the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.' The Bible pictures it through symbols: the shield of faith that guards you from error, the mustard seed that grows from tiny beginning into a mighty tree, and the whale — the deep confidence that what sinks into the dark shall rise again (see WHALE, JONAH). Faith is not blind religion; it is the active trust that what you firmly hold in mind takes form in your life.

Read the whole map. Every symbol in the Bible is a state of your own mind — the book lays out the entire system, from Genesis to Revelation, in plain language.
