What Does the Pig Mean in the Bible?

Pig = appetite without judgment — the mind that takes whatever it is handed and returns to the same mud. A picture of careless thought, not an insult to animals.

How it shows up in the Bible

Jesus sends the legion into a herd of pigs and they run down into the sea. That is not a story about animals drowning. It is what happens when a crowd of unclean thoughts is finally given somewhere to go: the whole herd of them goes back into the turmoil and is gone, and the man is sitting there, dressed and in his right mind.
