Lazarus in the Bible — Hidden Meaning & Symbolism
Lazarus = the spiritually dead part of you that Jesus, your imagination, raises to life. He is not a man brought back from physical death. Lazarus is the soul that has lost its light and inner life — asleep, buried, and beyond hope by the world's thinking. Jesus waits, then calls him forth on the third day: the inner pattern of death, hiddenness, and rebirth (see THREE, RESURRECTION). When imagination speaks within you — the voice that says come forth — what was spiritually dead rises, unwrapped from its grave clothes, and lives again.
