Bread in the Bible — Hidden Meaning & Symbolism

Bread = the word of God — the truth that feeds the mind and sustains the soul. 'I am the bread of life' = the truth that keeps you alive. In the feeding of the five thousand, Jesus shared 5 loaves — 5 servings of God, the word of God — and 2 fish — 2 servings of faith — and both were multiplied to feed the whole multitude. Give the word and the faith, and the mind is fed.
