Zemaraim in the Bible — Hidden Meaning & Symbolism
Zemaraim, zem–å–ra'–im (Heb.)-- double shearings; second shearing; double fleece; two coats of wool; double pruning. a A city of Benjamin (Josh. 18:22). b A mount in the hill country of Ephraim \\ (II Chron. 13:4). Abijah, king of Judah, stood on this mountain and talked to the Israelites who had come up, a great army, to fight against Judah. Meta. Thoughts of substance multiplied and strengthened in consciousness (double shearings, double fleece, two coats of wool, double purning). Pruning and shearing give the idea of cutting off; even so thoughts of lack must be put away, that thoughts of substance may be established. The Zemaraim that was a mountain in the hill country of Ephraim, upon which Abijah stood and talked to the Israelitish army, also signifies the exalting of the will in the individual, by recognition of God as the one guiding, overcoming power.
