reddish; fox-colored; purple; vine bearing cerulean grapes; choice vine; noble vine; vineyard. A valley where lived Delilah the Philistine woman whom Samson loved and who was the direct cause of his downfall (Judg. 16:4). Meta. A very material aspect of life (reddish, vine). This life is really of the true choice vine, or Christ life; but by the exercise of the phase of the soul that Delilah here signifies (sensuality, sense thought, belief, and desire) the life expression takes on a very material and corrupt appearance.
