A group of thoughts, fertile, productive, capable of bringing forth much good, belonging to the wilderness or uncultivated and undisciplined phase of man's consciousness. This group of thoughts has come under the jurisdiction of the prayer-and-praise faculty (Judah) for further adjustment and upliftment. Heated, glowing, furnace, suggest the purifying light, life, and love of Spirit. (See Isaiah 33:14, latter half of verse, to 17.)"The refining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold; and a man IS tried by his praise" (margin, by"that which he praiseth, or, that whereof he boasteth"; Prov. 27:21). In Jeremiah 11:4 the land of Egypt, out of which the Children of Israel were brought, is likened to"the iron furnace."
