Italy in the Bible — Hidden Meaning & Symbolism

Italy, it'-a-ly-- kingdom of Italus; island of the fish, or of the lamb. A country in southern Europe (Acts 18:2). Meta. Strength. Fish refer to increase of ideas, and lamb refers to the natural life of the organism. The strength that Italy signifies would be of both mind (intellect, or outer reason, here) and body. (Italy as mentioned in the New Testament is the Italy of the Roman period rather than Italy as it is today.)
