Gibea in the Bible — Hidden Meaning & Symbolism

Gibea,,rlb'-e-a (Heb.)-- high; like a mountain; a hill; an eminence; a highlander." Sheva the father of Machbena, and the father of Gibea" (I Chron. 2:49); either a man or city of Judah. Meta. A hill always refers to a high, elevated thought, desire, aspiration, or state of consciousness. This may not always be spiritual; it may be of the intellect or of the soul, but it is an aspiring to higher things. The meaning of Gibea is virtually the same as that of Gibeah. (See GIBEAH.)
