Gazzam in the Bible — Hidden Meaning & Symbolism
devouring; consuming. His children were of the Nethinim who returned from the Babylonian captivity (Ezra 2:48). Meta. A devouring, consuming, destroying thought or belief that belongs to the religious consciousness in man. It comes from the destructive idea of killing out all that is ungodlike; it is of the"servant" class, because the sonship or Christ idea is to lift up and redeem. (The Nethinim were servants in the Temple; they served the priests and did all the menial work.)
