What Does the Number 14 Mean in the Bible?
14 = two complete cycles — the full span of a thing finished twice over before it moves on. Counted in generations it means the work is done and then some. Not a family tree.
How it shows up in the Bible
Matthew divides the ancestry of Jesus into three sets of fourteen for exactly this reason: each block is a finished stage of the same mind developing. Read as family history it is a list of names. Read as inner development, it is a map of how a person arrives at imagination awake.
Read the whole map. Every symbol in the Bible is a state of your own mind — the book lays out the entire system, from Genesis to Revelation, in plain language.
