What Does the Number 100 Mean in the Bible?
100 = fullness of measure — the whole amount, nothing missing. The hundredth sheep is the one thought you cannot bring yourself to leave behind. Not a tally.
How it shows up in the Bible
A hundred sheep, a hundredfold harvest, a hundred measures of oil. The number means the count is complete and one piece has gone missing from a whole. That is the entire point of the parable: the value is in the completeness, not in the ninety-nine.
Read the whole map. Every symbol in the Bible is a state of your own mind — the book lays out the entire system, from Genesis to Revelation, in plain language.
